Asheville Women's Healing Retreat

June 2-5, 2016 - Asheville, North Carolina

The Return to Zero Asheville Women's Holistic Healing Retreat will be hosted at the Prama Institute for 4 days / 3 nights from June 2-5, 2016. Located just outside of Asheville, North Carolina, the Prama Institute is set among forested hilltops and grasslands surrounded by the Appalachian Mountains and borders the scenic French Broad River.

This retreat will take you on a transformational healing journey. Please read our Testimonials page to hear from those who have experienced a RTZ Healing Retreat. You are also welcome to read our Vision statement to get a better idea of what these retreats are all about. We do hope that you will join us on this sacred retreat.

LOCATION

Prama means “dynamic balance” in Sanskrit. On an individual level, this means fostering harmony between body, mind, and spirit. On a collective level, it means stewarding balance between people, community, and environment.

The two geodesic dome structures are Prama’s most distinctive features.  Both domes are designed according to the original Buckminster Fuller architectural specifications. The main dome is the ideal space for yoga and our group meetings.

We are 25 minutes from downtown Asheville, which has become well known for their local farm-to-table cuisine and thriving artistic community. There is also a picturesque drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway with miles of panoramic vistas to help relax and restore you.

The Prama Institute is the perfect serene, supportive place for our journey through our grief to finding healing after loss.

FOUNDER & RETREAT HOST

Dr. Kiley Krekorian Hanish is a bereaved mother and occupational therapist living in Los Angeles.  She is interested in the transformative aspects of grief, specifically how storytelling, meaningful activities, experiences, and the environment contribute to healing.

Kiley and her husband Sean are creators of the film Return to Zero starring Minnie Driver and Paul Adelstein. It is based on their personal experience of their son Norbert, who was stillborn, and is the first movie to tackle the taboo subject of stillbirth.

CO-FACILITATOR

Dr. Ivy Margulies is a clinical psychologist in Los Angeles specializing in maternal mental health, including stillbirth, miscarriage, infertility, postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, and newborn loss.  You can read more about Ivy at her website Angels Born Still.

Ivy brings mindfulness, ritual, and sacredness to the retreat, allowing us to deepen our connection to ourselves, our babies, and others in the group.

NOURISHING MEALS

Prama is renowned for its gourmet vegetarian cooking.  Their chefs can accommodate almost any diet including gluten free.  They use high quality, local and organic ingredients to offer an array of delicious and nutritious options at every meal. At this retreat, people may go through a certain depth of processing, and our goal is to provide food and caring service that is supportive of this.

We try our best to cater for special needs and dietary requirements, making sure every retreat participant is cared for so they can relax and enjoy the retreat without any food apprehensions.
