Women's Healing Retreat
October 17, 2015
Tara Sanctuary, Topanga Canyon
Our intention for this day-retreat is to create a sacred and safe space for you to soften, open up, let go of negative feelings, and allow self love to come in.
After the death of our baby, we can feel guilt and shame. Perhaps we believe we did something wrong -- or didn't do something right-- that caused our baby to die. Maybe we knew something was wrong but our attempts at seeking help were ignored. We come to a place of feeling guilty, ashamed, and isolated in our grief.
During this day retreat, you will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of experiences that allow you to cultivate self-compassion while creating a community of women who support you unconditionally.
We are excited to have found the perfect location to host a day retreat in Los Angeles. Tara Sanctuary and the surrounding land holds a sacred space for us to dive inward and give ourselves permission to connect more profoundly with our grief and our relationship with our deceased baby, in order to find transformation and healing.
Dr. Kiley Krekorian Hanish is a bereaved mother and occupational therapist living in Los Angeles. She is interested in the transformative aspects of grief, specifically how storytelling, meaningful activities, experiences, and the environment contribute to healing.
Kiley and her husband Sean are creators of the film Return to Zero starring Minnie Driver and Paul Adelstein. It is based on their personal experience of their son Norbert, who was stillborn, and is the first movie to tackle the taboo subject of stillbirth.
Dr. Ivy Margulies is a clinical psychologist in Los Angeles specializing in maternal mental health, including stillbirth, miscarriage, infertility, postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, and newborn loss. You can read more about Ivy at her website Angels Born Still.
Ivy brings mindfulness, ritual, and sacredness to the retreat, allowing us to deepen our connection to ourselves, our babies, and others in the group.
