Camilla, spreading HOPE for Cadon Joy

Ambassador Camilla Coates, fundraising in memory of Cadon Joy

“Cadon Joy was born 9lbs 12oz 22.5” long on May 27th, 2022. She was born desperately needing help to breathe on her own. She suffered a hypoxic brain injury during birth and spent the next ten days in NICU fighting for her life. On June 7th at only 11 days old, we brought her home and surrounded her with family and love as we removed her from life support. She passed away in her mother’s arm as her father, brother, and sister all held her. Cadon’s death was preventable and we have started a foundation in her name, The Cadon Joy Foundation where we promote home birth education, help facilitate neonatal resuscitation and tools to help, support pediatric end of life care, help with pre and postnatal mothers, and support the NICU.”

If you would like to make a contribution to Camilla’s fundraiser in honor of Cadon Joy, here are the programs and initiatives your money goes towards:

  • Sponsorship for virtual support groups and in-person retreats

  • Outreach and education for healthcare providers

  • Peer and community support

  • Empowering resources for bereaved families and their loved ones
